Master Smith Tim Potier was presented with the award for the 2012 W.F Moran Award for his Bowie Camp Knife at the competition in Atlanta at the Blade Show.
The competition knife for the 2012 W. F. Moran Award was a Bowie Camp Knife patterned after the one illustrated on page 117 of the "Master of the Forge" book. The blade was required to be forged of carbon steel, at least 10" blade, a curly maple handle featuring silver wire inlay work. Note that this style of Moran camp knife features a guard similar to those found on most hunting knives.
