**UNCLE AL'S SECOND THURSDAY MEETINGS**
Al & Sheila Lawrence graciously host a meeting at Riverside Machine in DeQueen, AR, the second Thursday of each month. It begins about 5 p.m., dinner is available, and you are encouraged to bring a knife or your latest creation to "show and tell." Demonstrations, how-to instructions, and informative topics are shared by "experts." These folks have been doing this a long time and we are all so thankful for their service to knifemakers. Supplies are for sale and a photographer is there to photograph your knives.

thanks for putting this up Dan.
For most of you guys older than dirt; the monthly knife meetings at Al's is a pretty well known thing. But there are probaly some new folks getting started that may be unaware of what we do there.
For the last twelve years or so Al and Sheila have hosted a monthly meeting in their shop for knifemakers, blacksmiths, collectors, and just people who are interested in what we do. Everybody from new beginners to some Mastersmiths so old they almost have to use their walkers to get in the door.
What started out as just a few now averages about 30 attendees a month; sometimes as many as fifty. We have had regulars drive from as far away as four hours each way.
Men, ladies, and young ones are there, no foul language and no rude talk.
What it boils down to is just a bunch of folks who bring their latest work, talk about what we do, share information, do a demo or two and relax. We all learn something. From damascus to silversmithing to flint knapping there is a bunch of things out there in the world to learn ;that a diverse group of artisans can use to help one another.
If you are within driving distance we would be glad to see you.
