Hi All,

Continuing on my quest to purchase the right forge...

Does anybody know anything about Darren Ellis' forges? I just stumbled across them the other day, and they look interesting. Anybody out there have any experience on one?

Thanks,
Zack

Zack I know Darren sold the business a while back. The website is now hightemptools.com and lists that they still have the forges.

Yeah, that's where I came across them. I'd never heard of them before. Just wondering if anybody's got much time on one.

Thanks,
Zack

Zac, I bought a Darren Ellis 8 inch vertical forge in 2008 and it works great. I have a blower from bladesmith depot on it along with a pid controller and thermocouple. The Ellis burner has fine tune adjustments for both the air and gas. No problem getting to welding temps, or holding at lower temps. I've been satisfied with mine.
