Hello all. I am new here and am very interested in getting into forging out my knives. I have got back into making knives about 2 years ago after stopping 17 years ago when I was around 16 or 17. I have done stock removal but recently forged my first knife as well as made the San Mai. I figured I would try it out after getting a piece from someone else and liking how the knife I made from it turned out. I did my work on an old charcoal forge with hand crank. The blade is 1080 core with wrought iron layers and wrought iron gaurd and butt cap. I have attached a picture of how it turned out.
