Engraving Class at GRS

I just completed a week long engraving class at the GRS Training Center in Emporia, Kansas. My instructor was Master Smith Steve Dunn. ABS members JR Cook, MS and Tammy Randall (wife of Master Smith JW Randall) were in my class. We learned a great deal and had a good time during the week.

The facilities at the Training Center were excellent and Steve Dunn was an outstanding instructor. In addition to the standard instructional material, Steve covered many techniques for engraving a knife as well as gold inlay. I am looking forward to using these new skills on my next knife project.

I took some video clips of Steve Dunn demonstrating engraving patterns and techniques that could be used on a knife that I will prepare and post on the ABS YouTube Channel when I have time.

Below is a photo of Steve Dunn at the microscope showing JR Cook and myself a few engraving techniques.

I know that you had a great class Dan. Eventually I will get up there to take it and I know I want Steve as the instructor.
