Rules for ABS Member Events Forum

It is important to follow the rules for the ABS Member Events Forum. We want all ABS members to have the ability to post their events such as hammer-ins but there are absolute rules in place in view of the educational mission of the American Bladesmith Society, Inc and our section 501 c3 non-profit organization status. While you can post and discuss the details of your educational event, the sale, discussion of sales, listing of prices, or offering for sale of knives or edged weapons through out the Forum is prohibited.

If you have any questions about this policy please contact the Forum Administrator at abswebmaster@americanbladesmith.com before posting your event to discuss these rules.

ABANA 2012 Conference


ABANA’s 2012 Conference is titled our “Reunion on the Great Plains” they hope to bring traditional and artisan blacksmiths and bladesmiths together to offer their knowledge to others interested in the fields. It will be hosted in Rapid City, South Dakota from July 18 through 21, 2012. Their roster includes three ABS Master Smiths: Kirk Rexroat, Ed Caffery and Ed Fowler; plus they are pleased to have Havard Bergland, a well-known Norwegian knife and axe maker. Exactly Dwane. I feel your pain. Plus I will be at the A.G. Russell show the weekend after that with knives to deliver. Got to make them first. I would love to see Mr. Bergland.
