There will be both a silent auction and a live auction conducted by Col. Tim Ryan during the Annual American Bladesmith Society Banquet at the 2011 Blade Show in Atlanta. Gwen Dunn and Thelma Gaston will be managing these events and need your assistance in obtaining donation items for the auctions conducted at the ABS Banquet on Friday night, June 10th. The auctions raise needed funds for the ABS.

Ideas for auction donation items could include: gift baskets, tools, memorabilia, books, jewelry, knives, supplies, handle material, craft items, “A day in my shop” for training offer, or any other item that our ABS members would be interested in bidding on.

Please contact Gwen Dunn at (270) 779-9123 or by Email dunnknives@windstream.net or Thelma Gaston at (501) 367-8924 or by Email tgaston36@comcast.net and let them know what item you are donating for the ABS Banquet Auction. You can also post a reply to this topic and tell us about your auction donation item. Gwen and Thelma will be available to accept your auction donation at the ABS table on Friday morning, June 10th, at the Blade Show in Atlanta.

We appreciate your generosity.

I'm planning to bring a basket with Colorado made products. In past years I've included wine, salsa, honey, soaps and note cards. Baskets are fun to put together, we'll see what I can find this year.

In past years there have been baskets from Michigan and Texas as well as a tea themed basket. I look forward to seeing what other baskets are donated for the auction.

I have been to the bead shop today looking for inspiration to make a piece of jewelry for the Blade Show auction. I bought Red Coral, Blue Peruvian Opal, Tourmmaline, Jasper and some cool silver clasps. I keep looking at them wondering what they will turn into, if you are curious you better be at the auction. I'm leaning toward the Red Coral. I'll keep you all posted.

I am donating a new copy of the book entitled "Ranches of Colorado" by Colorado author and nature photographer John Fielder. This 16 x 12 hard back book is new and still in plastic shrink wrap and is 232 pages long with 375 photographs of 50 Colorado ranches.
