Master Smith J.D. Smith of Boston, Massachusetts forging a knife in preparation for his blade grinding demonstration at the American Bladesmith Society's 3rd New England Hammer-In that was held in Auburn, Maine at the New England School of Metalwork July 15-17, 2011.

The ABS Hammer-In featured training in bladesmithing techniques with instructors: Mastersmiths Lin Rhea, Christoph Deringer, J.D. Smith, Jim Batson, and Journeyman Smiths Mace Vitale and Butch Sheely.
