Journeyman Smith Mace Vitale sucessfully spears a ping pong ball with the tip of his forged knife during the Cutting demonstration. ABS Chairman and Demonstration Judge Greg Neely signals success!
The Cutting Demonstration consists of several tests for the participant's blades including a one inch free hanging rope cut in one swing, timed 2x4 cut, golf ball cut in half, and the ping pong ball spear. All of these demontrations test different aspects of the hand forged blades of the participants. The winner was awarded the traditional stuffed Teddy Bear.
