ABS 30th Anniversary Knife and the 19th in the series of the Mastersmith's Board Knife. The following Board Member Mastersmiths are named in the order of their involvement in crafting this outstand work:
W. F. Moran, Jr. forged the 11" Damascus blade in his ST-23 style. This is Mr. Moran's most recognizable style. The is the last blade Mr. Moran forged and a Letter of Certification signed by Mr. Moran will accompany this knife
Bert Gaston heat treated and tested the blade.
Jerry Fisk ground the blade
Rick Dunkerley finished the blade.
Greg Neely etched the blade ands as a special not, hew was able to duplicate Bill Moran's etch.
Joseph Keeslar crafted the handle, guard and butt fixture. All the fittings are pure silver.
Jay Hendrickson did the silver wire inlay on the handle. Jay collaborated with Bill Moran on the design and style. Beautiful work!
Harvey Dean made the sheath with nickel silver throat and tip. Mr. Moran furnished his trademark "Man in the Moon" in silver and this is affixed to the sheath
As most know, Mr. Moran's last days were spent in a hospital. During these last days B.R. Hughes visited Mr. Moran and was able to get some quality pictures of Bill and Jay discussing the silver wire inlay and the handle. Also there is one picture of Bill holding the finished knife and by his expression you can tell he really liked what he was holding. Copies of these pictures will also accompany the knife.
