The ABS auction, featuring the ABS Board Knife of the Year, the ABS Master Knife of the Year, the ABS Master Folder of the Year, the ABS Journeyman Knife of the Year, and the Order of the Mystic Brotherhood Knife of the Year, plus a number of other exceptional knives will take place Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 4:30 pm in Room 103
After the close of the show Friday evening, ABS members will gather for an evening of fellowship, food, and fun. It should prove to be a lively and interesting evening. Contact Jan Dubois at 281-225-9159 for meal tickets
The ABS Board of Directors will again host an informal gathering at 6:00 pm to visit with members and guests. Cocktails will be available. Elena Neely announced the auction items will be on display during the cocktail hour.
The annual awards banquet will be held in the Renaissance Waverly Hotel at 7:30 pm Friday, May 30th. The cost of the meal, which will include grilled filet mignon, is $35.00 per person. The charge to the ABS is much higher than the amount paid by attendees; auction proceeds cover the remaining cost of the meal.
Results of the journeyman and master judging will be announced as well as the presentation of other awards, including the W.F. Moran Award, Antiques Bowie Collectors Award, and the Margret Moran Silver Slipper Award.
A silent auction which will include perfume baskets and coffee/tea baskets will be held during the evening according to Mrs. Elena Neely, auction organizer.
After the awards have been presented, Colonel Tim Ryan will again be in fine form as he serves as auctioneer for the live auction.
